All is going well as the bulk of the Troop works on the Personal Fitness merit badge under the direction of Jonathon Cannon. There are a couple of issues we need to address.
First, Scout Base. The camp out is October 19th-21st. I need to know how many will be camping with us. We have invited the Webelos from another nearby Pack to camp with us, but have not received a reply. There are 4 or 5 of them and one Webelos from Pack 458 may be joining us. (Yes, it is correct to have an “S” at the end. It is an acronym for “We’ll-Be-Loyal-Scouts”)
Please email me back with confirmation for Scout Base, I need to get a head count as soon as possible and T-shirt size. Our deadline is next week.
The Troop discussed options while at Scout Base and decided wander and enjoy the displays rather than get locked into a all day merit badge class. That will work well, especially if the boys from Pack 458 join us for the day.
Popcorn is another issue. We are going to sell popcorn at “Show and Sells.” The boys are welcomed to sell to friends and family or go out on their own, but the Troop will set up tables at Churches and stores. The popcorn sold by the boys on their own is ordered in the first part of October and delivered to them in the middle of November. They will receive all prize credit of this product.
The Troop is going to purchase some popcorn and sell at the “Show and Sells.” The Troop and Pack will sell this and prize credit will be divided up among the boys.
Believe it or not, it is time to sign up for our summer camp dates. The guys have selected Kia Kima again and would like the first week. I should be able to give you firm dates before too long.
